Picture Number 114: Surfer

Will graciously volunteered to pose for a picture, before going surfing. Although a bit shy, I suspect someone likes getting his picture taken.

Picture Number 113: Dunes #2

A lonely bench sits right by the dunes. Just the perfect spot to watch the surfers attempt to ride the waves.

Picture Number 112: Dunes

Sand dunes with some sort of plant growing amongst the grasses. I'm not sure what it is, but I love the color of the leaves.

Picture 111: Male Model

One of my friends reluctantly poses as I get a close up. Thanks for being such a good sport!

Picture Number 110: Beach Feet

My toes in the shelly sand. Not too comfy, but I love the combination of all the colors of the shells mixed together.

Picture Number 109: Wrightsville Beach

A view of Wrightsville beach at a stormy sunset. It was really windy that day, and in the picture you can see the wind blowing lighter sand down the beach in a vein-y pattern.

Picture Number 108: Vacancy

The motel across the street from the pier.

Picture Number 107: The Birds

There is a certain group of birds that are always hanging out around the pier. They periodically switch from sitting on the building leading up to the pier, to a motel right across the parking lot. I always try to catch them in flight, and I finally got them on camera!

Picture Number 105: Happy Birthday

Nothing more fun than Birthday cupcakes!

Picture Number 104: Slam Dunk

Picture Number 103: Beach Entrance

A sideways view of the public beach access, with a car's head lights illuminating the sand. I had to bend down next to some guy's bumper to get this angle. I'm sure he was thinking I was crazy haha

Picture Number 102: Old school pic

An old fashion style pic of a surfer.

Picture Number 101: Pier Picture 2

The last of the surfers leaves the water for the day.

Picture Number 100: Jan the Man

Watching the surf at sunset

Picture Number 99: Shoebees

Shoe wearing beach bums going star gazing.

Picture Number 98: Pier Picture

Another shot of the Wrigtsville Beach pier, against a stormy sky.

Picture Number 97: watching the tide roll away

Watching the tide go out at Wrightsville beach, right after a rain storm.

Picture Number 96: Body Shot

Watching the waves roll over my feet, as the water is pulled back to sea. I love the feeling that your sinking in the wet sand.

Picture Number 91: Beach House at Night

Taken on Wrightsville Beach at night. The only light illuminating the picture is that from the street lights and the lamp on the back porch of the beach house, giving this picture an errie feel.

Picture Number 90: mirror pic 2

Another picture taken through a mirror. It was really tough trying to conceal the camera.

Picture Number 89: mirror pic

While completely bored with nothing to do, I decided to take a series of mirror pictures of myself.

Picture Number 86: The Library

The old library at Chapel Hill. It looked so pretty, that I just had to go in. But, unfortunately it was closed for the day.

Picture Number 84: Ferris Wheel 2

Looking up, directly under the ferris wheel, you see a somewhat odd angle of this familiar ride.

Picture Number 81: Fried Dough

It truly is amazing what gets deep fried at state fairs. This stand was just the tip of the ice burg. Others had  everything from fried peanut butter and jelly, to fried green beans. My personal favorites are fried mac and cheese and fried oreos....yummy!

Picture Number 78: The Big Swings

This giant swing ride was perfectly illuminated from giant spot lights underneath it. I felt like it was the perfect opportunity for a night time picture.

Night time view of the North Carolina state fair from the top of the ferris wheel.

Picture Number 76: Paint Can

Over the summer I had my wisdom teeth pulled out. The recovery took about a week, and in that time I was stuck in my house completely bored with nothing to do. I decided to do some painting, and when opening a can of paint discovered it to be all dried up and rusting. The colors looked so pretty, that I got my camera, stuck it inside the can and started taking pictures.

Picture Number 75: Pier

The pier at Sunset beach during low tide never looked so pretty. Without the water in the background, it looks a little out of place, almost as if it should be in the desert.

Picture Number 74: Sunset Beach

While on spring break at Sunset Beach, I took some pictures of people walking up and down the shore line.

Picture Number 73: Going to the Chapel

Another shot from the wedding I went to this summer. I was panning the camera as they were walking down the island after the ceremony.

Picture Number 72: Luggage

During the Abercrombie/ Hollister style photo shoot in the field, I dropped my bags and a change of clothes in the grass and left to take pictures. They were sitting there, thrown haphazardly on the ground all afternoon when I decided to take a picture of the forgotten luggage.

Picture Number 71: Clouds

While driving to visit some friends, I noticed the clouds looked really pretty. After some editing, they reminded me of the clouds in toy story.

Picture Number 70: The Field

While in my second photography class, I had the idea of taking pictures in this field by my house. I wanted a Abercrombie/ Hollister inspired photo shoot. Luckily my friends are always up for modeling for me and agreed to help me out. This is one of my favorite pictures from the group.

Picture Number 69: Piano Cords

One of my friends loves playing the piano. While at his house, I decided to take some pics of it. I took this one of the cord strings.

The words I use the most

Many of us get in the habit of using words over and over again. Some of these words are slang, and some just made up amongst friends. I can't think of a word off the top of my head I use the most often, but instead sayings. Whenever struck by an exciting idea or story, an "OH My Gosh!" will randomly out burst from my lips. One of my friends since 2nd grade used this saying all the time, and I guessed it rubbed off on me. During the awkward middle school years, I insisted on not being a girly-girl and constantly used "dude", god knows where this came from and why saying it was going to make me cooler.... but whatever.  During high school, I had an excessive overuse with the saying "sweet" for everything from a cute dress to getting an A on a test. Now a days I use the typical southern saying "y'all", and somewhat betray my northern roots. I also use "Hay dios Mio", whenever the mood strikes for a little espanol. My hispanic side of the family refers to events as "doings", and I also have adopted that into my everyday dialect. When ever one of my friends has a blonde moment, the saying "yeah, ok Karen" always comes up, in reference to a dumb blonde character in the movie Mean Girls. Over all I would have to say that my language use it heavily influenced by the people and culture around me, and it has made me who I am today.

Picture Number 67: Bare

The reflection of a bare tress against a building wall seems pretty simple, but ended up looking very nice.   Some of my favorite pictures are those of trees without leaves. The twisted and scrambled branches look more like art work than a hibernating plant.

Picture Number 66: Mirror Image

This old antique Mirror and wall paper were so pretty that I caved in and did the cliche "picture in the mirror of my self", but I think the end result is pretty good.

Picture Number 65: Side Mirror

Being stuck in traffic is never fun... unless you've got a camera! I took this shot of the cars behind me, through the reflection of my car's side mirror, don't worry I wasn't driving at the time.
